LA FERME ROUGE "LE GRIS" ROSE ZAER, MORROCCO. 100% Cinsault (Organic/Vegan)

Practices: Organic

Grapes: Cinsault

Region: Zaër, Morocco

Soil: Hamri (red clay) & ancient sands, limestone subsoil and shale

Vinification: Manually harvested grapes. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeast. The wine ages in stainless steel.

Sulfites: low addition at bottling

This delightful and refreshing rose comes from the Hamri (red clay) and ancient sand terroir with limestone subsoil and shale of the Zaer region of Morrocco. All the fruit is harvested by hand. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeast, and wine ages in stainless steel with little to no sulfur additions at bottling. The result is a delicate, dry rose with notes of strawberry and spice with underlying minerality. Lovely and unique!

About: Set on a plateau 450 meters above the Atlantic east of Rabat, La Ferme Rouge (The Red Farm) produces wines in the heart of Morocco's Zaer region. When winemaker Jaques Poulain crafts his wine from the local red soil (Hamri) where old and new vines are grown harmoniously with nature, in a tempermate climate with strong oceanic influence.
